🥃 Puerto Vallarta Distillery — Small Batch Spirits & Big Personality

We’re always fascinated by places that reflect the personality of a destination.

And Puerto Vallarta Distillery absolutely does that.

Small-batch spirits.

Local pride.

Passionate storytelling.

And just enough samples to turn a casual tasting into a very fun afternoon.

What we loved most was that this didn’t feel overly commercialized.

Instead, it felt personal.

You could sense the craftsmanship behind every pour and the pride behind the process.

As bourbon lovers, we appreciated hearing the similarities and differences between Mexican distilling traditions and what we’ve experienced along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.

Learning the difference between how all of the different variations of tequila are made from Blanco to Repesado to Anejo to Extra Anejo as well as the difference between Tequila and Mezcal was worth the price of admission itself.  In fact we didn’t even have to pay an addmission price come to think of it, but the Exit price with the bottle(s) of tequila was another thing….

And let’s just say…

The tasting portion escalated quickly in the best possible way.

By the end, everyone was making new friends and debating which bottle needed to come home in the suitcase.

Travel tip:

Leave extra space in your checked luggage as you will need it for your “samples”….  You can get all the stuff in Duty Free any time, but not these products at the distillery.

Also, this is a great thing to do during a day trip to the Malecon as it is right on the boardwalk.  We recommend doing this at the END of you walk on the boardwalk as after the “tasting” you may not be able to walk much further if you know what I mean…

### Inspired Traveler Tip:

Don’t just taste — ask questions. The stories behind the spirits are half the experience.

Have a question or want to make a commment, we would love to hear from you
