Celebrity Beyond Caribbean Cruise: A Week Celebrating 30 Years of Friendship

February 1–8, 2026

Some trips are vacations.

Others become stories you’ll tell for years.

My husband and I recently sailed aboard Celebrity Beyond on a 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise with two other couples — dear friends we’ve shared 30 years of life and laughter with. What better way to celebrate three decades of friendship than exploring tropical islands, indulging in incredible dining, and experiencing one of the most beautiful ships at sea?

Here’s a day-by-day look at our unforgettable week.

Day 1, Departure Miami on Celebrity Beyond

Miami greeted us with a bright blue sky and a surprising chill in the air — sunny but sweater-worthy, which felt like the perfect dramatic opening for a week-long Caribbean adventure.

This trip was special from the start. My husband and I were traveling with two other couples who have been dear friends for 30 years. Between us, there are decades of stories, shared vacations, life milestones, and countless laughs. What better way to celebrate than sailing the Caribbean together?

Boarding the Celebrity Beyond was refreshingly easy. Within minutes we were checked in, walking up the gangway, and officially in vacation mode.

Our first afternoon was all about exploring the ship. And what a ship it is. From the soaring Grand Plaza to the lush Rooftop Garden and endless ocean views from the upper decks, the design is stunning at every turn. It quickly became clear that this floating resort would be just as much a destination as the islands themselves.

With drinks in hand and anticipation building, we watched Miami slowly fade into the horizon as the ship eased out of port.

The adventure had officially begun.

Day 2, A Sea Day of Wellness (and a Little Indulgence)

Our first full day at sea introduced us to one of the perks of our AquaClass staterooms — a wellness-focused experience designed for relaxation and rejuvenation.

Translation: spa day.

AquaClass guests enjoy unlimited access to the Thermal Suite, and we took full advantage throughout the day. Each room offered a different sensory experience:

  • The Hammam, a Turkish-style bath with marble benches and mosaic tiles
  • A calming Salt Room designed for respiratory wellness
  • The classic Steam Room
  • An Infrared Sauna
  • The glowing Crystalarium relaxation room
  • A tranquil Float Room
  • Heated tile loungers perfect for drifting off between treatments
  • And a refreshing Rainfall Water Therapy Room

Let’s just say… we were very relaxed by mid-afternoon.

That evening we switched from wellness to whimsical dining with a reservation at La Petite Chef. This immersive dining experience features a tiny animated chef projected onto your plate who prepares each course before your eyes.

It was part dinner, part show, and completely delightful. The food was exceptional, but the playful storytelling made it unforgettable.

Day 3 – Waterfall Adventures in Puerta Plata

Our first port day delivered adventure in the best possible way.

We had booked an excursion to the famous Damajagua Waterfalls, located about 40 minutes inland from Puerto Plata.

The experience begins with a steady uphill hike through tropical forest, surrounded by towering trees, birdsong, and the occasional reminder that maybe we should have stretched more before vacation.

But the payoff?

Absolutely worth it.

At the top, the adventure flips direction. Instead of hiking down, you descend through the canyon itself, moving waterfall to waterfall.

We:

  • Jumped off cascades
  • Slid down natural rock chutes
  • Swam through crystal-clear turquoise pools

It felt like nature’s version of a waterpark — except far more beautiful.

Back on the ship that evening, we enjoyed dinner in one of the ship’s four themed dining rooms, followed by one of the most fun events of the week:

Silent Disco.

Picture a dance floor filled with people wearing glowing headphones, each tuned to different music channels. From the outside it looks hilarious… but once you’re inside the headphones, it’s a full-on dance party.

And yes — the dance moves from our group proved that 30-year friendships come with zero embarrassment.

Day 4 – Trunk Bay Bliss, St. Thomas & St. John

When the ship docked in St. Thomas, we decided to create our own adventure.

Instead of staying on the island, we hopped on a 20-minute ferry to nearby St. John, one of the Caribbean’s most pristine and beautiful islands.

From the ferry dock we grabbed an open-air taxi and headed straight to the legendary Trunk Bay.

And yes — it lives up to the hype.

Regularly ranked among the most beautiful and photographed beaches in the world, Trunk Bay offers powdery white sand, swaying palms, and water so clear it almost looks filtered.

We spent the afternoon swimming, relaxing, and soaking up what might be the most perfect beach day imaginable.

We made it back to the ship just in time — in fact, we were among the last guests to board, savoring every last minute of the island vibe.

That evening we enjoyed dinner followed by an incredible magic show that left us all wondering how on earth did he do that?

Day 5 – History, Heart and the Beauty of St. Kitts

Some travel experiences stay with you because of the scenery.

Others stay with you because of the people you meet.

Our day in St. Kitts delivered both.

We had booked a historical island tour led by Michael, a local guide whose storytelling brought the island’s history vividly to life. He shared the story of St. Kitts’ sugar cane plantations, the role they played in shaping the island, and how the landscape still reflects that history today.

But what made it special were the personal stories.

Michael described growing up on the island — fishing as a boy, spending entire days outdoors with friends, and returning home only when dinner was ready.

His stories added a layer of warmth and humanity to the beautiful places we visited.  We think travel is always richer when you hear a place through the voice of someone who calls it home.

We wrapped up the afternoon with lunch at a lively local favorite called Shipwrecked, where we enjoyed ocean views and island flavors before heading back to the ship.

That evening we returned to La Petite Chef for a complete different show — because some experiences are simply too fun to do only once.

Day 6 – Sea Day Reset

After several busy port days, our next sea day offered the perfect chance to slow down.

Morning started with sunshine on the upper decks, coffee in hand, watching the endless blue stretch in every direction.

Naturally, we returned to our favorite wellness escape — the Thermal Suite — rotating between the heated loungers, steam rooms, and quiet relaxation spaces.

That evening we enjoyed dinner at Eden, one of the ship’s most unique specialty restaurants. The space itself feels like dining in a modern garden suspended above the sea, and the creative menu was just as impressive as the setting.

Of course, no night on board would be complete without taking advantage of the ship’s fantastic entertainment lineup.

Day 7 – Sunsets and Celebrations

Our final sea day arrived far too quickly.

We continued our now well-established health-and-wellness routine — balanced, of course, with good food, good wine, and plenty of laughter.

In the evening we gathered for drinks on the Sunset Deck, which turned out to be the perfect spot to watch one of the most beautiful sunsets of the entire trip. The sky lit up in brilliant shades of orange, pink, and gold — the kind of moment that makes everyone pause.

Dinner that night took us to the fourth and final themed dining room, completing our tour of the ship’s main restaurants.

But the real grand finale was the show “Arte.”

This high-energy, visually stunning production blends dance, acrobatics, music, and iconic works of art into an immersive performance built around the idea that “art is all around us.”

It was bold, creative, and completely captivating — the perfect closing act for an unforgettable week.

Cheers to 30 Years… and Many More Adventures Ahead

As the ship sailed back toward Miami, we reflected on what made the trip so special.

The waterfalls.
The beaches.
The sunsets.
The laughter.

But most of all, the friendship that has carried us through 30 years of life together.

Travel has a way of reminding us how meaningful those connections are.

And if this trip proved anything, it’s that the best journeys are the ones shared with people who know your stories — and are still excited to create new ones with you.

Cheers to 30 years of friendship… and to the next adventure. 🌎🥂
